In about 1728 the name of Gardner was called Garnet; The generations after 1728 changed the name to Gardner; To research this line has been confusing because some records render the name Gardner & others records call the name Garner or Garnett along with other corruptions of the name. To simplify my Surname File, I have chosen to call my Gardner (Garnet) family Gardner on all the family group sheets with the understanding that in many records the name is caled Garnet with one or two ts;

However, the record is in all probability an error as far as the Mrs is concerned and may have been meant to read Miss Hannah Garner.

One major reason why I believe Susannah (Hannah) Gardners mother is Elizabeth Harlow is the fact that she named daughter Patience, perhaps after her mother Elizabeths sister, as well as her husband, John Perkins mother also named Patience;
